Guidelines for BSA Scout Troops that wish to interact with Pack 133
Pack 133 has created a Troop Liaison (TL) role to act as a single point of contact for Troops to reach out to the Pack as well as assure a single voice from the Pack to area Troops. The Troop Liaison is a coordinating role, not a decision-making role. Final decisions are made by the pack committee and the TL implements and/or communicates those decisions.
I. All Troop outreach shall go through the Troop Liaison contact at Pack 133
II. All contact from Pack 133 to Troops shall come from Troop Liaison at Pack 133
III. Troops should refrain from directly contacting Pack 133 Parents and Scouts.
A. Harassment of our membership, which includes persistent direct marketing, will not be tolerated
IV. The Troop Liaison will coordinate scheduling Webelos Woods with nearby Troops
A. Troops should provide no more than three potential Webelos Woods dates to the TL by September 30.
B. The TL will communicate the Committee’s scheduling decision to the Troops that submitted dates after the first Committee meeting in October.
V. The Troop Liaison will coordinate filling Den Chief roles with nearby Troops
A. Troops that have Scouts who would like to serve as a Den Chief to Pack 133 should inform the Troop Liaison by the end for June for the next Scouting Year.
B. Den Chief assignments are need-based and are not guaranteed. Final determinations will be made by the Committee and relevant Den Leaders.
VI. The Troop Liaison will share a modified calendar with Troops after the Pack planning meeting usually held before the end of June.
A. The Pack prefers to share the locations of our non-public events to our membership only. Therefore, the calendar may include event type, but may not include event location and specific time.
B. While the Committee does its best to adhere to the calendar published in June, unforeseen circumstances that require changes are inevitable. The Pack reserves the right to adjust the calendar to accommodate evolving Pack needs. Scoutbook will be considered the source of truth and will reflect the most up-to-date programming.
VII. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in Troop sanctions at the determination of the Pack Committee.
Guidelines for BSA Scout Troops Participation in Pack 133 Events
Pack 133 holds events throughout the year where Troops have the opportunity to participate. The Troop Liaison will coordinate the need for BSA Scout volunteers with the Troops and the Pack designated event leader. In some cases, the TL may hand over communication with the Troop(s) to the event leader when direct communication is more practical or necessary, but the TL will be included in all interactions.
I. An invitation of Troop participation in a Pack event is not open and should be limited only to the Scouts approved to attend the event.
II. Adult Troop leaders should only be in attendance when the event requires their participation, or they have been cleared to attend prior to the event.
III. Crossover of our AOL Scouts is first and foremost a celebration of their achievements as Cub Scouts. Therefore, the event will focus primarily on recognizing their Cub Scout career.
A. Consistent with BSA standards, Pack 133 will invite only Troops that are receiving Scouts to participate at the end of the Crossover ceremony. The Pack Committee will determine the number of Troop Leaders and BSA Scouts that may be part of the receiving party at Crossover.
IV. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in Troop sanctions at the determination of the Pack Committee.
**The Pack Committee reserves the right to change/modify/remove these guidelines as they see fit to meet Pack objectives.
