Pack 133 & You
A large active pack cannot be effective without the participation and support of all of its families.
Parent volunteers are needed to become trained Adult Leaders: Den Leaders, Cub Masters and Pack Committee Members. These trained Adult Leaders set the pack calendar and organize den meetings, pack meetings and activities throughout the year to "help the Cub Scout grow".
These trained Adult Leaders need the assistance and support of every family in the pack. Parents are encouraged to participate at every level:
- Parents of Tiger Cubs are required to work alongside their scout at den meetings and all pack activities;
- Parents of older scouts are encouraged to help run den meetings;
- All families are expected to help one of our many committees. Whether you can lend a couple of hours at an event you are attending, have an interest or skill that you would like to share with scouts or can help organize a hike, camp-out or trip - there is a way for you to "help the pack go".
- All families are expected to participate in our annual Popcorn Sale. This is our only fundraiser and is the means by which all our pack activities and purchase of advancement rewards for the scouts are funded. All proceeds from this fundraiser go directly back to the scouts. In past years, the fundraiser has been so successful that we have been able to give each family their annual subscription to Boys' Life magazine, give each scout the Scout Handbook for their rank, give each scout the kits to build their Pinewood Derby cars and Riangutter Regatta boats, and even been able to subsidize our trips. Each and every scout benefits from this fundraiser.
Cub Scouts is a family friendly organization, and Cub Scout Pack 133 encourages siblings to participate in pack activities along with their brothers. Siblings must be supervised by their own parent.
