Rocket Launch

DEADLINE TO RSVP EXTENDED TO JUNE 20
Back by popular demand!

Pack 133 invites you to launch a rocket at Ralston Fields on Saturday, June 23rd, starting at 10:00am. This year, we want to make this event even better -- please bring your best friend(s), who is not already in Scouts, to join us. If your friend decides to join the Scouts, you will earn the coveted "Recruiter" badge which you can wear on your uniform.  There will also be prizes awarded to the top recruiters.  Please remember to also invite boys who will be Kindergartner and 1st grade in September so that we can fill out our Lion and Tiger Dens.

The following schedule has been set for the Rocketry Event this year:
  • June 1 - Rocket Distribution (Stroup residence - 11 Knollwood Dr. in Mendham Boro from 5:00pm-7:00pm)
  • June 10 - Rocket Assembly Workshop (Garabrant Center, from 10:00am-12:00pm)
  • June 20 - Last day for recruits to RSVP
  • June 22 - Rocket Check in (Garabrant Center from 6:00pm-8:00pm)
  • June 23 - Rocket Launch (registration starts at 10am, rockets start launching at 10:30am)

This year, we are holding a "check in" event the night before, similar to the Pinewood Derby.  This is being done to help address and avoid certain problems with rocket assembly that can be difficult to deal with on the day of the event.

On the day of the 23rd, the "Big Daddy" rocket kick off will launch at 10:30 prompt, so try to be on time!

Prizes are available for kids whose rockets land closest to a number of randomly placed flags in the landing fields.  Plus, those current scouts who recruit potential new members can earn additional prizes!

For any question, contact Jim Stroup.
