ROCKETRY WORKSHOP
You've never built a rocket before? No problem. Pack 133 has a number of experienced members who will be happy to help you through the process. On Saturday, August 15th, we will be holding a Rocketry Workshop at the Lake Pavilion in the Brookrace Neighborhood (directions below). The pavilion has a roof, but is open air, so it will keep us safe from the elements while still allowing for social distancing and air flow. So this event will take place, rain or shine.
ROCKET CHECK-IN
The Rocket Check-in event allows the pack to inspect the rockets and make sure that they are built correctly and ready to launch. The goal is to make sure that each kid is able to launch the rocket and have the parachute deploy correctly. It is preferred that you pre-check your rocket so we can make sure the rocket is flight ready. If you cannot make the check-in feel free to bring your rocket directly to the Launch, but given the pace of the event, we may not be able to make all necessary corrections to the rocket before its launched.
This event is also at the Lake Pavilion at Brookside (directions below). The pavilion has a roof, but is open air, so it will keep us safe from the elements while still allowing for social distancing and air flow. So this event will take place, rain or shine.
ROCKET LAUNCH
The Rocket Launch is the big day. Members of Pack 133 Leadership will set up each rocket and get it ready. Then the launch control is handed over to the Scouts and they get to launch the rockets that they built themselves. The event takes place at the Soccer Fields at Ralston Park (directions below).
We will be assigning time slots for the dens. Please arrive to Ralston Fields during your time slot below.
