Pack 133 Visit to the USGA Museum!

What:  Pack 133 Scouts and their parents/guardians will participate in a tour and STEM event at the USGA museum in Far Hills, NJ.
When:  Wednesday, August 30, 2017, 10:00am to 12:30pm
Where:  USGA Headquarters, 77 Liberty Corner Rd, Far Hills, NJ 07931

Cost: $5 per attendee, pay at the museum desk upon arrival

Join your fellow Pack 133 scouts as we experience the USGA museum, USGA history, and the science of putting and golf equipment!  You’ll participate in a scavenger hunt style tour of the museum, a tour of USGA Test Center with demos and experiments, and putting with replica vintage putters and golf balls.

This STEM course is designed by the USGA Test Center and covers topic such as motion, friction, aerodynamics all related to the testing of golf clubs and balls.

The STEM related activity will qualify towards one of the Nova awards offered by the Boy Scouts of America.

The event will begin promptly at 10am.  Please arrive 15 minutes early to ensure we begin on time.  The event should run approximately 3-4 hours.  Bring a snack or lunch if it runs through noontime.

Class B Uniforms!  Scouts are encouraged to wear their Pack 133 t-shirt.  Other attire, just regular summer appropriate shorts, flat shoes.  For the putting green, appropriate footwear is required—no high heels or heavy-soled boots will be permitted.

Additional USGA Museum Visitor Guidelines:
  • Strollers are permitted throughout the Museum.
  • Restrooms are equipped with changing tables.
  • Photography without flash is permitted in all the galleries. Flash photography, video, and the use of tripods are not permitted in the galleries.
  • Eating, drinking, and smoking are not permitted in the galleries.
  • Mobile phones must be turned off or set to a silent alert at all times. Please refrain from using mobile phones in the galleries.
  • Please refrain from touching artifacts, artwork, and exhibition cases.
