Details:

West Point strongly suggests we arrive at The Washington Gate by 7-7:30 am latest. Their suggestion is based on a long list of "possibles" and their recommendation we do not miss Cadet-led tours and the parade of cadets at 9 am: The possibles include -  "...possible game day traffic, possible congestion at the gate, possible delays in parking at a remote parking lot and possibly waiting for transfers to a shuttle bus and the possibility that the ride down to the academy proper might take more time than usual...," to quote the very nice Army football folks.

Dress:

Class A Uniforms.  West Point prefers Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts wear their uniforms given this is Scout Day and they were quick to note the Cadets love seeing the boys in their scouting uniforms. Obviously: bring weather-appropriate clothing, umbrellas, etc. The game is played rain or shine but other activities - including the parade of cadets - are weather-dependent.
Directions to West Point and The Washington Gate:

I would recommend you drive north on I-287 to I-87 most of the way - driving time is usually 90 minutes but please allow extra time for possible game day traffic congestion at the gate, parking at a remote parking lot and then transfers to a shuttle bus and the ride down to the academy proper.

Google Maps / GPS navigation address: 917 Washington Road. West Point, NY.
This is the intersection of Route 218 and Washington Road. You might see signs for the Keller Army Community Hospital as you head north on 218 toward West Point. Enter the USMA on Washington Road. You will be directed to remote parking lots.
